The pharmacy opened at the Borrego Medical Center in 2006 as the result of a donation from former Borrego Springs residents Joni and Ray Ehly. Quickly outgrowing its limited space, the pharmacy moved the following year to the heart of downtown Borrego and began to expand dispensing services to affiliate clinics in Cathedral City, Coachella, El Cajon, Julian and Oasis.
The BCHC Pharmacy’s major goal is to provide fast, efficient service. While the pharmacy strives to stock a broad inventory of pharmaceuticals and over-the-counter medications, those not on hand can be special ordered and usually delivered within 24 hours, depending on availability. The pharmacy maintains competitive prices and a discount drug program for BCHF patients. It is contracted with the majority of insurance carriers, Medicare, and soon will add Medi-CAL.
